Over the past five years, I have held various positions within the company, and it’s been a privilege being part of SharkNinja’s journey, taking pride in helping the organisation to reach new heights.

The business

SharkNinja is a global product design and technology company that creates five-star lifestyle solutions through innovative products for consumers around the world.

We operate under two distinct brands: Shark, the UK’s best-selling vacuum cleaner brand, developing household products and Ninja, the maker of premium kitchen appliances that make it quick and easy to prepare delicious food and drinks at home.

The influence

My earliest memory of barbecuing was during childhood holidays. We used to drive to the south of Spain, camping on the way and BBQ featured highly on the long drive. Who can resist a burger or a hot dog after a long day of driving, all gathered on our camping chairs.

Over the years, I developed an obsession with barbecuing, quick dinners, long summer evenings and every birthday with friends and family – it’s a great way to socialise and entertain.

The equipment

The Ninja Woodfire electric BBQ grill and smoker. I love how versatile it is. With seven functions in one product, it’s hard to find something it can’t cook – from smoky BBQ ribs, or chicken using the smoker function, to freshly grilled salmon and halloumi.

It’s also great to be able to serve some of the more traditionally ‘unhealthy’ sides such as chips, knowing they have 75% less fat because you can air fry them.

The meal

As an ode to my childhood, I absolutely love preparing Tandoori chicken and lamb – my mum’s recipe – and whole roast chicken, infused with real Woodfire flavour using the Ninja Woodfire. It’s my go-to meal in the summer.

The process starts with marinating tender chicken in a blend of yogurt, aromatic spices, and a touch of lemon straight on the grill. The BBQ smoker gives a whole roast chicken a smoky flavour that takes it to another level.

The next big thing

I am confident that technology will continue to advance, with Ninja at the forefront of innovation. In parallel with these technological advancements, I foresee a surge in the trend of outdoor dining among the British that extends beyond the summer months.
