Waitrose and WH Smith to stock BBQ magazine

BBQ: Fire, Food & Outdoor Living will be in Waitrose supermarkets and WH Smith newsagents from the Spring issue of the magazine (out March) across more than 1,000 outlets.

“This is fantastic news for the publication and further proof that outdoor cooking has gone mainstream, with so many people – beginners, enthusiasts and pitmasters – firing up the garden grills for family and friends,” said BBQ editor Rupert Bates.

BBQ, starting with the Spring issue of the quarterly magazine and on sale from March, will be in around 250 Waitrose stores across the country, 500 WH Smith newsagents and a range of independent outlets.

“Waitrose and WH Smith are iconic retailers, with big footfall and we’d like to thank our distribution partner InterMedia for all their work. Having launched the print title just over two years ago, the huge retail reach will bring a big new audience to live-fire cooking, be it barbecues, wood-fired ovens or firepits, as well as great marketing opportunities for our partners and advertisers, who have been so supportive of the title from the start,” said Bates.

“The magazine is not just about great food and great people, delicious recipes and imaginative drinks pairings, but also provides plenty of design and product inspiration for your outdoor space.”

“As well as home cooking, BBQ also champions the awesome public places and spaces - be they pubs, restaurants, hotels, cookery schools, campsites, rural retreats or sports clubs – where you can eat out, drawn to the fire and compelling year-round outdoor dining experiences. The BBQ village just got bigger – a lot bigger.”
