What is UK BBQ Week?
Welcome to UK BBQ Week, the annual celebration of all things BBQ in the United Kingdom!
U.K. BBQ Week is an idea born by a group of BBQ enthusiasts who want to show more people how easy and rewarding cooking outdoors can be, 365 days a year. It was set up in 2017 to promote BBQ and encourage everyone from the young to the old, male and female to pick up the tongs and cook up some amazing BBQ food for their families and friends.
We have gone from strength to strength. Now in its 8th year, we have built a strong following with 2800+ followers on Facebook, 3400+ on twitter and 5800+ followers on Instagram. Our hashtag #UKBBQWEEK has been used over 7,000 times since launching in 2017.
Each year, we gather together to showcase the incredible food, people, and culture of the UK’s BBQ community. From juicy burgers and tender ribs to succulent steaks and mouth-watering seafood, we celebrate the rich diversity of BBQ cuisine and the passionate individuals who create it. As always, we like to fit as much in as possible, so our week is extended to cover two weekends.
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing recipes, tips, and stories from some of the UK’s most talented pitmasters, chefs, and BBQ enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie to the BBQ scene, there’s something for everyone to discover.
So, fire up your grill, grab your tongs, and get ready to join us in celebrating the art of outdoor cooking. Let’s make this UK BBQ Week the best one yet!
Our website is also full of hints and tips with tutorial videos, recipes including recipes from authors of books, downloadable recipe cards & reviews of BBQ equipment and gadgets.
We are a group of volunteers and with the support of the industry we want to get more people to BBQ all year round. We are building support from retailers, importers/manufacturers, chefs, culinary authors, celebrities, BBQ competition teams and the media. UKBBQWeek is volunteer-run and not-for-profit.
